Gaurav N. Pingle is an Associate Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (‘ICSI’) and a Commerce Graduate.
(i) Advisory: He advises budding entrepreneurs on setting-up of businesses in India. He also consults corporates, Compliance Officers, Company Secretaries, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants on critical corporate law matters and interpretation issues. Objective is to provide research-based legal advice;
(ii) Compliance: He handles various assignments relating to Secretarial Audits, Due Diligence, Quarterly compliance audit of listed companies, routine compliance (under Companies Act & FEMA) of private companies, wholly owned subsidiaries, joint venture companies;
(iii) Training Programs: He conducts internal training programs and workshops for companies, law firms, Chartered Accountant firms & Company Secretary firms on topics relating to corporate laws.& Associates.
Books & Research: His book on Companies Amendment Act, 2017 was published by Bharat Law in February 2017. As an avid researcher, he is associated with Dr. K. R. Chandratre (Past President, ICSI) and has contributed in reviewing, editing and proposing some content of Dr. Chandratre’s recent publications, which includes:
(i) Secretarial Audit and Compliance Manual (under Cos. Act, 2013),
(ii) Meetings – Law, Practice and Procedure,
(iii) Company Secretarial Practice Manual (under Cos. Act, 2013),
(iv) All About Private Companies,
(v) Guide to Company Directors,
(vi) Law relating to Insider Trading (2015 Regulations),
(vii) Transfer & Transmission of Shares (with a Special Chapter on Depositories System)
Research Papers & Publications: As an Author, he religiously authors research papers, dedicated columns and articles on the current case laws, latest happenings in Corporate Laws and articulates his views, which are published in leading business and professional journals, Souvenir of ICSI’ National/Regional Convention, Newsletters monthly journal. He pens various dedicated columns like:
(i) SEBI’s New Initiative: in Taxmann Journal that analyses the impact of decisions taken in SEBI Board Meetings;
(ii) Noteworthy Recent Rulings in Corporate Laws: is another unique dedicated Column in Sanhita (Newsletter of Pune Chapter of ICSI).
Many of his articles have bagged the “Best Article” award.
Teaching & Training: He is a faculty at ILS Law College, Pune for ‘Company Law’, ‘Investment and Securities Law’ and Diploma in Corporate Laws. He is also a visiting faculty at various colleges in Bangalore, Mangalore and Udipi. He has been invited to participate and address many conferences, seminars and workshops, study circle meetings and training workshops conducted by ICSI and ICAI.
Prior Work Experience: Before assuming the role of Practicing Company Secretary, he worked as an ‘Assistant Editor’ of Taxsutra’s Corporate Law portal, ‘Consultant’ in Bangalore-based Chartered Accountant firm, JCSS Consulting Pvt. Ltd. He has also worked as an ‘Associate’ with Pune-based firm, KANJ.
